MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- LCSW Licensure Required (copy required upon initial hire date)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience of providing clinical supervision
- Valid New York State Driver’s License (copy required upon initial hire date)
- Physical & TB Test (required within one month after initial hire date)
HOURS: 40 hours per week
- Must be flexible to meet the needs of the program
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
- Provide clinical supervision to our counseling staff to enhance the treatment planning process as well as overall clinical support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to provide regular clinical supervision to Cottage Directors (non boys Hard to Place)who are providing weekly CFTSS counseling services.
- Responsible to monitor the CFTSS clinical notes in the EHR for both quantity and quality as well as compliance with Medicaid documentation requirements.
- Responsible to determine and document medical necessity for each current resident (non RTA boys) and new intakes in order to establish eligibility for CFTSS services.
- Responsible for completing a battery of intake assessments within two weeks of admission and on an as needed basis during the course of placement as follows:
- Adaptive behavior analysis
- Sexual offender risk assessment
- Beck depression inventory
- Behavioral assessment
- Mental status exam
- Trauma screening
- Psychological assessment
- Mental health screening
- Alcohol and substance abuse screening
- IQ test (as needed)
- Provide consultation for program evaluation and make recommendations regarding how best to enhance the programmatic and clinical components of our services.
- Partner with Quality Assurance and The Residential Department to develop outcome metrics which measure treatment efficacy both on an individual client basis and at the macro program level.
- Provide comprehensive training to Cottage Directors, Family Workers, and Case Planners on the following topics (not intended to be all inclusive):
- Family engagement
- Family counseling model and strategies
- Developing a realistic, measurable goal plan
- Working with specific treatment populations
- DSM V and Diagnostic criteria
- Family finding and permanency
- Discussion of different therapeutic counseling models including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- The distinction between sexual perpetration and sexually reactive behavior
- The dynamics and effects of sexual victimization
- The meaning of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and it’s impact on normal development as well as it’s correlation with the incidence of physical, mental health, and substance abuse disorders in adulthood
- The definition of complex trauma, it’s effect on development, and how it manifests in the milieu (i.e., trauma triggers, trauma reenactment)
- Offers consultation services to cottages at the request of the respective department head to assist clinical and direct care staff in developing effective behavioral intervention plans to reduce the incidence of individual challenging behaviors (i.e., restraints, assaultive behavior, repetitive non-compliance, etc.).
- Responsible to provide clinical and consultation with respect to the treatment planning process.
- Responsible for review and formalized feedback on our electronic referral process in Filebound on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for collaborating with senior leadership in identifying opportunities to serve new, specialized treatment populations and helping to design appropriate programs to meet their clinical needs.
- Attend all meetings and training as required by the Director of Residential Services.
- Be available for consultation to identify new regulatory requirements and to draft agency policies and protocols to meet said regulations.
- Be available for consultation with Residential Department Heads with respect to the provision of Clinical Services.
- Assist in other duties as requested by the Director of Residential Services.
- Be available to offer topical therapeutic group services to populations with specific treatment needs (i.e., survivors of sexual abuse, grief and loss, children who were witness to domestic violence).
- In conjunction with Quality Assurance and the Residental Department, assist with conducting research on an as needed basis.
- Adhere to the treatment philosophy of The William George Agency and the rules, requirements, and regulations of the New York State Office of Family and Children Services.
- Responsible for adhering to and performing all duties in accordance with every safety standard, practice, and policy of The William George Agency. This includes, but is not limited to, review of The William George Agency’s Safety Policy and attending all required safety-related training.
