- Developing organizational structure and strategy for the functions of the Communication and Marketing department, including sta and budget management.
- Overseeing the execution of the functional responsibilities of Communication and Marketing.
- Supporting the Vice President and other WT administrators in developing branding, advertising, admission marketing, and reputation-enhancing strategies for the University.
- Coordinating and providing counsel for marketing eorts by WT colleges and units, including Athletics.
- Serving as an active and collegial member of the Philanthropy and External Relations (PER) leadership team, helping to identify and develop strategies for new opportunities, including increased alumni. engagement and expanded fundraising activities.
- Supporting the Vice President and other WT administrators in responding to unforeseen occurrences and opportunities, and other duties as assigned.
Qualications:
- Bachelor's degree required with major emphasis in marketing, public relations and/or other related areas.
- 6 years of progressive managerial experience in Public Relations, Marketing or associated field. 3 years supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to generate imaginative solutions and create cost-effective alternatives; Demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise with technology-assisted communications and marketing; Superior writing, editing, presentation, and organizational skills; Demonstrated ability to build consensus and teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred with major emphasis in marketing, public relations and/or related fields.
- Effective experience in brand management and marketing on-line services is desired.
- Demonstrated experience with media relations, including the ability to proactively position University experts and news stories with media outlets
