Equity and Accessibility Operations Coordinator
Job Description
The Equity & Accessibility Operations Coordinator will serve as the office manager and central point of contact for OEA. The position also serves as Assistant to the Assistant Vice President for Equity and Accessibility. Under the supervision of the AVP, this position must exercise initiative and independent judgement in developing, coordinating, and managing the daily unit operations and workflow including documentation of processes and procedures, managing the calendar for the AVP and other direct reports where needed, developing presentations and reports for the AVP, managing and provided oversight for website updates, assisting with event and outreach planning, and managing the administrative responsibility for various OEA projects including project tracking. The position works collaboratively with the finance staff within the Senior VP for Operations and Administration to coordinate operational matters for OEA. The incumbent must use discretion in the dissemination of information to faculty, students, staff and the members of the public served by the university.
Required Qualifications
• Significant experience with administrative support, office management, and programmatic support associated with serving as an office manager
• Demonstrated ability with analyzing data, and drawing conclusion
• Experience that demonstrates the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, including the ability to interact with a diverse constituency in a professional manner
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple competing demands
• Demonstrated ability to exercise excellent judgment and discretion when working with confidential and sensitive information
• Experience synthesizing multiple pieces of information to develop presentations
• Demonstrated experience with computer applications such as MS Office
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, human resource management or related programs
• Experience in event coordination
• Experience with HokieMart, Banner, or other related systems
• Knowledge of university organizations, colleges, academic departments, programs or administrative offices
• Knowledge of university policies and procedures
