Job Description
The Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks to fill a Manager position at the Wolf Pack Meats (WPM) facility. The Operations Manager will plan, direct and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for end products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. The incumbent is responsible for team management, retail activities, inventory, accounting, customer affairs and schedules all operations. The Operations Manager ensures employees are following all USDA, AAALAC and IACUC requirements in a way that meets or exceeds specifications and the position understands business models relevant to all Wolf Pack Meat (WPM) services.
The incumbent is also responsible for working with UNR faculty and following and implementing research protocols, data collection and providing operational expertise related to their research activities while also working closely with research and educational needs.
The position is responsible for ensuring that WPM remains fiscally self-supporting. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all UNR policies, procedures and regulations are adhered to. The position will report to Dr. Chris A. Pritsos, Director, Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and four years of related work experience or a Master’s degree and two years of related work experience. Related work experience: business administration, accounting, management, and/or food processing.
Certification and Licensure
Valid Driver’s license
HAACP certification required within one year of employment
Compensation Grade
Salary Schedules C: $48,525 - $58,000
