Communications & Marketing Specialist www.mntc.edu/about-mntc/employment-opportunities Location: Franklin Road Campus Department: Marketing Communications Time Open: Until 10/23/2020 Position: Full-Time Salary Range: $45,390.00-$46,500.00 Work Period: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. General Job Description: The communications and marketing specialist role is a dual role in that requires the ability to balance project management to keep the production team moving forward, while also focusing on content creation to support the overall production effort. The communications and marketing specialist must carry out a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced office that requires a high level of attention to professional quality and details, meeting deadlines, independence, flexibility, a positive attitude, and strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Focus on being a leader within the organization through personal accountability, and positive, critical, forward-thinking solutions. Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or a related program. Special Knowledge, Skill, or Ability: * Must have demonstrated experience with project management, professional writing and journalism; editing, proofreading, research and analysis; digital and content marketing copy development; and social media messaging. * Must possess the ability to develop written and digital content that provokes engagement and serves a strategic purpose. * Demonstrated experience producing feature-length editorial packages including writing, photography, and video. * Demonstrated experience conceptualizing and developing strategic marketing campaigns including engaging messaging, advertising, and collateral materials. * Advanced knowledge of computers including both MacOS and Windows-based systems, website and Cloud productivity applications. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include an advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel. * Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite to include knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign and an understanding of Illustrator tools. * Knowledge of digital video and photography equipment and editing software to include iMovie and/or Final Cut X. * Excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on proper grammar, AP Style writing, and writing for business and advertising. * Must have demonstrated experience with the print production process. * Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to effectively manage information and staff communications. * Ability to work with limited supervision, plan projects, set goals and demonstrate initiative. * Ability to work collaboratively with Marketing Communications team members and members of all other district departments. * Excellent reasoning ability and creative skills. * Satisfactory personal conduct and integrity. * Ability to work well with others. * Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance. * Strong, positive customer service skills. Experience: Minimum of two years of full-time experience as a writer and a generalist in the areas of communications, journalism, PR, marketing, or related field. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Can Include: 1. Provide excellent customer service to ensure strong partnerships throughout the MNTC district. 2. Focus on continual improvement to assure quality products and excellent services to our internal customers and stakeholders. 3. Function as the marketing project manager to provide elements for publications, social media, web projects, and to produce video. 4. Conceptualize, coordinate, and provide digital photography to support feature stories, web, and publications efforts. Ensure timely follow-through and communicate updates regularly on projects to coordinate efforts and meet deadlines. 5. Manage MNTC's brand and messaging across mediums related to public relations, media and advertising. 6. Prepare copy, reports, and data for special projects like the promotional and internal brochures, annual report, proposals, presentations, recruitment tools, and other web and social media needs. 7. Maintain the annual advertising list and serve as advertising traffic manager. 8. Maintains a flexible and positive approach to problem solving, professional critiques with a growth mindset; openness to learning and developing new skills and methods of production. 9. Consults and coordinates with various MNTC departments on to accomplish requested and scheduled production projects. 10. Assists with district recruitment and outreach activities, as needed. 11. Assists Marketing Coordinator with office duties, as assigned, necessary to operate a marketing communication program. 12. Exhibits professional appearance and attitude at all times. 13.
