Director of Finance and Operations
Position Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Operations manages key aspects of LISTEN’s financial systems, organizational operations, and administration. This includes areas such as accounting, budgeting, equipment acquisition, payroll, communicating with external stakeholders, vendors and contract services, and facilities management. The ideal candidate is a proven finance and operations professional, highly organized, attentive to details, with excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping people.
Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Maintain proper financial records.
- Coordinate the execution of quarterly reports with external accountant and consult with external accountant on any complex accounting issues.
- Manage LISTEN’s annual budgeting process. Manage budget throughout the year, including monitoring spending and providing reports.
- Manage annual Form 990 filing process (with support from external accountant).
- Prepare financial statements, including forecasts of income and expenses to support decision-making.
- Support grant budgets and reporting, and other projects as needed.
Operations and Administration
- Promote a people-centered workplace culture.
- Manage LISTEN’s work to promote safety and preparedness for emergencies.
- Serve as the go-to person for all administrative and technology issues.
- Submit nonprofit legal filings as required by city, state, and federal law.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with contracts and leases.
- Serve as primary contact for insurance policies.
- Identify and procure new equipment, office supplies, and software, arrange for equipment repair, and ensure accurate tracking and management of assets.
- Coordinate ongoing office maintenance and manage relationships with vendors.
- All transactions and maintenance involved with LISTEN’s new building.
- Scheduling maintenance and repairs of vehicles.
- Supervisory responsibilities.
Organization-wide Responsibilities
- Participate in organization-wide events.
- Participate in cross-department committees and teams.
- Other duties and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Professional experience preferred.
- Experience with budgeting and administrative functions required.
- Exceptional orientation to detail required.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills required.
- Strong ability to work independently and excellent time management skills required.
This is a full-time exempt position.
Compensation and Benefits: Annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with experience). LISTEN is also proud to offer additional competitive benefits, including paid holidays, accrued vacation and sick time, 100% coverage of employee medical and dental, employer sponsored life insurance and long-term disability insurance, and a 401K account with employer contribution of 5%, no match required.
