Position Summary: Responsible for providing short-term education, prevention and intervention services to students K-12 to build life, social and coping skills.  The goal of SAP is to provide students the support they need and an opportunity to learn life skills so they may achieve greater success in school and in life. This position follows a traditional 10 month school year calendar, may include evenings and occasional weekends.

 

Qualifications:

  1. B.A. /B.S. in Social Services or related fields.
  2. Experience and ability to work effectively with youth, adults and community members.
  3. Demonstrate written and oral communication skills.
  4. Pass agency paid criminal justice screening including fingerprints.
  5. Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing. (if required)
  6. Valid California driver’s license.
  7. Current proof of auto insurance coverage.
Duties / Requirements

Duties:

  1. Provides individual and group activities to identified participants.
  2. Schedules and presents educational workshops independently and/or with co-facilitator.
  3. Provides conflict mediation with identified participants.
  4. Responsible for collecting and completing statistical information, case files, program forms and providing appropriate documentation per program requirements and agency needs.
  5. Responsible for completing contract hours as assigned.
  6. Develop and maintain close working relationship as a liaison with assigned schools, agencies, participating business and organizations.
  7. Consults with school staff, probation; and community based agencies to make appropriate referrals to community agencies.
  8. Responsible for implementation of projects as assigned by Supervisor.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

  6. Participate in assigned scheduled agency meetings, in-service trainings, conferences and other trainings as determined by the supervisor.  This includes serving as an agency representative at assigned community meetings.
  7. Observance of assigned working hours and program appointments by demonstrating promptness and thorough preparation.
  8. Performance of assigned duties with a positive attitude and in the spirit of teamwork, collaboration and cooperation.
  9. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  10. Perform job duties in a safe manner to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  11. Participates in and/or supports agency fund development activities and events.
  12. Preparation of assigned reports, work records, statistical data, job performance evaluations, work plans, etc. in a timely manner.

 

SELECTION PROCESS:

  1. Review of applications for minimum qualifications.
  2. Ranking of qualified applicants.
  3. Top 3-5 candidates scheduled for oral interview.

 

MEDICAL/FINGERPRINTING REQUIREMENTS:  This position may require a medical screening and fingerprinting.
